Mini Berry Yogurt Pops

Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain whole milk yogurt
  • 1/2 cup mixed berries, fresh or frozen, chopped if large
  • 1/2 medium ripe banana, sliced
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons milk or water

Method & Instructions

  1. 1

Wash hands and rinse berries under cool water if using fresh fruit.

  2. 2

Add yogurt, berries, banana, and 2 tablespoons milk or water to a blender.

  3. 3

Blend on high for 30 to 45 seconds until the mixture looks smooth and pale pink with no visible fruit chunks.

  4. 4

Check thickness. The mixture should pour slowly from the blender. If it feels too thick to pour, add 1 more tablespoon liquid and blend again.

  5. 5

Place silicone mini popsicle molds or a silicone ice cube tray on a small tray or plate for easy transfer to the freezer.

  6. 6

Pour the mixture into molds, leaving about 1/4 inch space at the top for expansion.

  7. 7

Insert short popsicle sticks or toddler friendly handles into each mold.

  8. 8

Freeze for at least 3 hours until pops feel firm all the way through.

  9. 9

To unmold, run the outside of each mold under warm water for 5 to 10 seconds and gently wiggle the stick until the pop loosens.

  10. 10

Place the pop on a plate and let it soften at room temperature for about 10 minutes, until it feels soft all the way through and a spoon presses into it easily.

  11. 11

For children under 24 months, scrape soft shavings into a bowl or thaw the pop until soft, then serve it from the bowl with a spoon. From 24 months, a whole mini pop on a stick may be offered only while the child is seated and closely supervised.

  12. 12

SAFETY NOTE: Under 2 years, serve only soft shavings in a bowl, never a whole frozen pop.

Storage & Preparation Notes

Storage Instructions:

Keep frozen in the molds or in a freezer bag for up to 1 month. Soften before serving as described in the instructions; do not serve straight from the freezer.

Helpful Toddler Feeding Tips:

Prepare pops the night before so snacks sit ready in the freezer. Use single fruit flavors for toddlers who prefer simple tastes, such as only strawberry or only blueberry.
